At around 12:31am PT, paramedics were about to transfer care of an ill patient to staff inside the California Hospital Medical Center located at 1338 South Hope Street in Downtown Los Angeles, California just before a woman stole the ambulance.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, officers with the Los Angeles Police Department quickly located the ambulance and commenced a low speed pursuit of the stolen ambulance which didn’t have their emergency lights and siren activated.
The stolen ambulance continued onto the interstates with light traffic conditions as the California Highway Patrol took over the police pursuit.
The suspect drove the stole ambulance reaching speeds of up to 70 mph.
The police pursuit as the police pursuit exited Los Angeles, California, California and entered into San Bernardino County, California.
The police pursuit ended at approximately 1:15am PT along the shoulder of State Route 71 near the Central Avenue / Soquel Canyon Parkway exit in Chino Hills, California.
Authorities arrested the woman who’s identity has not been released.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, there were no patients inside the ambulance when it was stolen, and no Los Angeles Fire Department personnel or patients were harmed or delayed.
