Needles, CA: Demolition has begun on the old Relax Inn motel.
Demolition crews began on Saturday, March 31st, 2018 knocking down the old Relax Inn motel at 2208 Needles Highway in Needles, California.
Since closing years ago, the old Relax Inn motel has seen its share of vandals that would trash the property and storm related damages, including to its roof that was blown off during a monsoon storm a few years ago.
The 2 story structure will be knocked down but the front structures will be kept for a new project, that may come later in front of the Needles Planning Committee in the next few months.
The demolition of the old Relax Inn motel was a big goal of Adrian Chavez, Senior Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Needles.
Adrian Chavez continues to work on other code enforcement related matters and properties in the community, including the old Route 66 Burger Hut in Downtown Needles, California, which remains closed since the roof was blown off of the popular community eatery during a powerful microburst on Tuesday, August 12th, 2014.
According to the City of Needles, Adrian Chavez continues to work with old Route 66 Burger Hut, focusing on getting the exterior of the building done clean up.
