ZachNews has just received the latest information on the arrest of a suspect in an assault with a deadly weapon on an employee at Subway fast food sandwich restaurant in Needles, California.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, at 7:36pm PT on Sunday, April 29th, 2018, deputies responded to the 2400 block of Needles Highway in Needles, California for a report of an assault.

Deputies learned a white male adult, who was known to be a transient in the area, struck the victim with a metal pipe in what was described as an unprovoked attack.

The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

At 9:21am PT on Monday, April 30th, 2018, , deputies were dispatched to the corner of J Street and West Broadway in Downtown Needle, California after several citizens called 911 to report sightings of the suspect.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, 27 year old George Carl Davis, a transient, was found sitting on the corner holding the metal pipe.

George Davis was interviewed at the scene and arrested.

George Davis was booked into the Colorado River Station Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $50,000 bail.

ZachNews has learned that Mohave Valley Fire Department is sending water tender 818 with 2 personal to assist with the Tinder Fire burning 50 miles northeast of Payson, Arizona.

The water tender 818 is seen in the picture above sent into ZachNews by Mohave Valley Fire Department Fire Marshal Don Gibson.

The 2 personal heading over to the fire have been identified as engine boss Mike McDonald and firefighter Will Irvine.

As of 10:09am MST on Monday, April 30th, 2018, the fast moving Tinder Fire has burned 8,623 acres in the Coconino National Forest, some structures have been damaged, and smoke is affecting areas in northern Arizona into Colorado.

Reports that over 1,000 buildings have been evacuated in several communities in northeastern Arizona.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is reporting that State Route 87 is closed from milepost 290 at Clints Well to milepost 312 just 2 miles north of the Elks Picnic Grounds due to the Tinder Fire.

This is expected to be an extended closure and motorists are being told to use Interstate 17 and Interstate 40 as alternate routes.

Our community sends our thoughts and prayers to those communities affected by the fire and give our support to the many firefighters, medical crews, law enforcement personal, and disaster assistance crews helping people in the affected communities.

Police scanner reporting an accident involving a vehicle and a burro along eastbound Arizona State Route 68, between mile maker #3 and #4, in Bullhead City, Arizona.
No reports of injuries to the occupies in the vehicle, but the burro is reported to be dead.
The shoulder and #1 lane of eastbound Arizona State Route 68 was partially blocked by vehicle debris and burro, but have since been cleared.
Please drive with caution at night driving up into the local mountains for burros crossing the roadway, especially in the mountains near Bullhead City, Arizona and Oatman, Arizona.

Firefighters with the Yucca Fire District were on scene of a semi truck rollover crash along eastbound Interstate 40 near mile maker 38  west of Kingman, Arizona.

The picture (Seen Above) by Yucca Fire District shows the crash which occurred at around 2:49am PT on Sunday April 29th, 2018.

According to the Yucca Fire District, upon arrival, firefighters found a single tractor trailer that had traveled approximately 1/5 of a mile through the center median which had jumped a drainage culvert.

Firefighters from the Yucca Fire District responded with Chief 1301, Engine 1311 and Rescue 1317.

Rescue 1317 began patient care of the single occupant and other personnel secured the tractor trailer.

AMR, ADOT, DPS and MCSO also responded to the crash.

The patient was by Yucca Fire District personnel as well as AMR Personnel.

The patient refused transport against medical advice and remained on scene.

The #1 lane of eastbound Interstate 40 was shut down for approximately 2 1/2 hours.

Once the semi truck and scene were secured, the scene was turned over to ADOT and DPS.

Yucca Fire and AMR were dispatched back to the scene at 5:25am MST for a medical on the driver.

The driver was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center for assessment and was later transferred to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Yucca Fire District is on scene with Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Arizona Department of Transportation of a vehicle accident along eastbound Interstate 40 at mile maker 22 near Yucca, Arizona.

This is a picture posted by the Yucca Fire District of the accident which occurred at around 9:18pm MST on Saturday, April 28th, 2018.

According to the Yucca Fire District, dispatch reported a single vehicle rollover with numerous oxygen bottles on the interstate.

Chief 1301, Engine 1311 and Rescue 1317 from Yucca Fire District responded.

Upon arrival, we found a 28’ Class C Motorhome on it’s roof with evidence of multiple rolls.

Upon exiting vehicles, firefighters noticed the strong scent of propane.

Eastbound Interstate 40 was completely closed while we assessed the situation.

Upon a scene size-up, firefighters noted that a 7.5 gallon propane tank had been punctured and was releasing propane through a small opening.

Firefighters also noted 4 Scuba Diving Air Tanks which were intact and secured.

The propane tank was secured and the #1 lane was re-opened and all bystanders were allowed to leave the scene.

Firefighters encountered a single patient with minor injuries in care of bystanders.

The patient had self-extricated from the vehicle.

The driver of informed firefighters that he was rear ended by a semi truck that was also in scene at a high rate of speed and rolled multiple times before landing on the vehicles roof.

A patient refusal was obtained on both drivers.

American Red Cross responded and assisted the driver of the motor home as all of his personal belongings were destroyed during the accident.

The Yucca Fire District assisted ADOT and DPS with scene clean up and both drivers were transported by Yucca Fire District personnel to hotels in Kingman, Arizona.

Needles City Manager Rick Daniels told members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission that Supervisor Robert Lovingood agreed to provide all funding for the gymnasium improvement at the Needles Recreation Center. 

Needles City Manager Rick Daniels told members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission that we’re borrowing 2 years in advance, “$120,000” to get to do the improvements now, and we will be ineligible for a couple of years to get grants from that pot of funds.

Needles City Manager Rick Daniels told members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission that we have currently $60,000 in the bank and thinking to do the top 3 projects, which including the repairing of the ceiling and flooring inside the Needles Recreation Center.
