Needles, CA: Deputies arrested a wanted fugitive after short foot pursuit.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, at 9:30am PT on Friday, March 23rd, 2018, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station were at the Desert Mirage Motel located at 1910 Needles Highway in Needles, California to speak with an unrelated subject about his probation conditions.
While standing in the hallway of the motel, Deputy Nicholas Yates recognized 24 year old Michael Isaiah Geant from a Mohave County Sheriff’s Department wanted person flyer, as he stepped out from an adjoining hotel room.
When Deputy Yates asked to speak with Michael Isaiah Geant, he ran from th e motel across Needles Highway.
Deputy Yates chased Michael Isaiah Geant as he tried to hide among some trees and bushes.
Deputy Yates was able to take Michael Isaiah Geant from Needles, California into police custody without incident near the corner of R Street and Needles Highway.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, Michael Isaiah Geant was arrested and booked at the Colorado River Station Jail in Needles, California for resisting arrest.
Michael Isaiah Geant was issued a notice to appear for that violation.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, a records check of Michael Isaiah Geant revealed an outstanding warrant for Michael Isaiah Geant’s arrest out of San Bernardino County, California.
Michael Isaiah Geant’s bail was set at $50,000.
The records check also revealed an outstanding “No Bail” fugitive warrant, for a violation of probation out of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department.
