Traffic Update!!: Needles, CA: Lane closure along eastbound Interstate 40 after a semi truck went into ditch and landed on its side.

ZachNews has learned from California Highway Patrol that the #2 right lane of eastbound Interstate 40, just before the River Road cut off (Exit 139), in Needles, California will be closed for at least 12 hours due to an earlier accident involving a semi truck.

The accident occurred at 1:25am PT on Friday, February 23rd, 2018.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a semi truck went 20 feet off the roadway down an embankment, on it’s side, and that there was a lots of smoke coming from the semi truck.

San Bernardino County Fire Department was called to the incident, but was later cancelled.

ZachNews has learned from the California Highway Patrol in Needles, California that nobody was injured in this accident, only property damage.

Tow crews will be working during those hours to upright the semi truck and and clean up any debris.

Motorsists should use caution through the cone zone as they make their way into Needles, California.

An earlier check of the traffic shows no delays along Interstate 40, but motorists should plan ahead in case there is any traffic delays, especially as people begin to arrive to Needles, California for the 10th Annual Route 66 Hot Boat and Custom Car Show.
