Needles, CA: Summary and voting results from the Special Needles Recreation and Parks Commission Meeting.

A Special Needles Recreation and Parks Commission Meeting was held on Monday, February 12th, 2018 inside the Needles City Council Chambers in Needles, California.

The Special Needles Recreation and Parks Commission Meeting was broadcast live at ZachNews on Facebook.

** Here is a summary and the voting results that occurred during the meeting: **

  • Agenda Item #1:

Selection of All-Star Coaches for our Youth Basketball 2018 season.

** More Information: Agenda Item #1: **

Background: Coaches have submitted letters, per the Youth Sport Handbook, requesting they be selected for All-Star coach position in the division they coached in. Below is the 2018 All-Star Coaches selection. I feel that these are the best coaches to represent our All-Star teams in tournament play. Each of these coaches have represented the City of Needles in tournament play in the past and all coaches complied with Scmaf guidelines and the Coaches Ethics of our Youth Sports Handbook (pgs. 13-16) this season. I have attached a copy of their letters for your review:

  • C GIRLS COACH: Gloria Collier
  • C BOYS COACH: Michael Chavez
  • B GIRLS COACH; Mike Burns
  • B BOYS COACH: Charles Hills

Due to lack of commitment from any coach and the number of players in our ‘A’ Division that have other obligations for this year’s All-Star season, we will not be having any teams in the ‘A’ Division.
