Breaking News!!: Needles, CA: The 99 Cents Only Store is permanently closed.
The 99 Cents Only Store, located inside the Needles Towne Center at 1010 East Broadway in Needles, California, is permanently closed.
ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez was broadcasting live as the 99 Cents Only Store shut their doors forever at 9:00pm PT on Friday, January 26th, 2018.
The 99 Cent Only Store opened on Thursday, August 21st, 2014 inside what use to be the old Bashas grocery store which closed on Friday, May 9th, 2014.
Hours before the closure, ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez was inside the store as customers were seen thanking employees for their work and telling them that they will be missed in our community.
Employees tell ZachNews that they are sad to be closing and will miss this community, thanking all of the great people they got to meet well here.
Surrounding businesses including AutoZone, Flavors of India, and Rite Aid are sad by the lost of the 99 Cents Only Store and tell ZachNews that despite the rumors, their businesses are not closing and want the people to know to not forget us here at the Needles Towne Center.
As employees pack up the leftover goods that remain inside the store, a community is asking what will come and replace the 99 Cents Only Store, hoping that a grocery store will come.
Atlas Properties as well as the City of Needles are searching for a grocery store to come in to the 29, 502 square feet of retail space.
Those grocery stores interested in wanting to move into the Needles Towne Center should contact Atlas properties at: 1 (951) 369-0308 or go onto their website at: http://www.atlasland.com for more information on the property.
As we all wait for what will come in and replace the 99 Cents Only Store, the community should urge grocery stores like Smith’s, Aldi, Grocery Outlet, Smart and Final Extra, WinCo, Stater Brothers, and other grocery stores to please come to our community, and whoever does decide to come and become our new grocery store, make sure that we as a community will be there shopping at their grocery store.
We as a community have made by in the past through other big closures, but we are still standing and we will keep did Manny and fighting for a new grocery store.
Stay tuned to ZachNews for more news update with the latest in the search for a new grocery store.
