Needles, CA: California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte meets with the people for coffee and presents awards to a local teacher and small business.

Jay Obernolte, State Assemblyman for California’s 33rd District, flew into Needles, California on Thursday, November 9th, 2017 to meet with the people in the community for coffee and presents awards to a local teacher and small business.

California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte began his day in Needles, California at a Community Coffee event that was held at the Needles Recreation Center, meeting with the public, law enforcement, and City of Needles officials.

ZachNews was there and broadcast live as California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte then spoke about the issues and laws that lawmakers and the governor in Sacramento, California has passed, vetoed, and what his working on for the community.

After the Community Coffee event, California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte, along with his wife and his staff, all went to Needles High School where they met with Needles High School Principal Amy Avila and all went to surprise a teacher with the ‘Teacher of the Month’ award.

ZachNews was broadcasting live as Jay Obernolte, State Assemblyman for California’s 33rd District, presented the Teacher of the Month Award to Miss Sutton of Educational Teaching Center at Needles High School in Needles, California.

Recognizing her for all of her efforts in helping students succeed and prepare students for the future, Miss Sutton was awarded the Teacher of the Month Award for all of her work at Needles High School.

With tears of joy, Miss Sutton thanked everybody and recognized her teacher’s aide Glenda Bradford for her work with our students and for caring for our students.

After Needles High School, California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte, along with his wife and his staff, all went to 19th Hole Bar and Grill to surprise the small business with the ‘Small Business of the Month’ award.

ZachNews was broadcasting live as Jay Obernolte, State Assemblyman for California’s 33rd District, presented the Teacher of the Month Award to Small Business of the Month Award to 19th Hole Bar and Grill in Needles, California.

Recognizing for their work as a small business and for being involved in their community, 19th Hole Bar and Grill was awarded the Small Business of the Month Award.

All of the employees at 19th Hole Bar and Grill were thanked for their work and took some pictures together.

California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte, along with his wife and his staff, then sat down to eat at the 19th Hole Bar and Grill which he later tells ZachNews that the food was really good.

After he was finish with lunch, California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte spoke to ZachNews about his visit to Needles, California, the awards that were presented at Needles High School and at 19th Hole Bar and Grill, and some more details about a couple of voter initiatives that his office is working on  regarding; 2 of the voter initiatives deals with the recent inactive Gas Tax and the other voter initiatives deal regarding the issues of reducing penalties on crimes and early releasing of parolees criminals.

California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte also talked about D.N.A. collecting should be allowed in a broader variety of crimes and working on a voter initiative instituting a new felony called “Cereal Theft” which means that theft crimes of less then $950.00 may be a misdemeanor but if you do it 3 times or more then it’s a felony and will be prosecuted as a felony.

The hope is to collect all the signatures and have the voter initiatives be on the voter ballets for November 2018.

During his visited, California State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte wanted to make sure everybody knows that he is here to represent the people of this great community that he loves, and that this community will be heard, not be silenced anymore.
