Needles, CA: Stolen firearm, felony warrants, and methamphetamine smoking pipe leads to 2 people arrested during traffic stop.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at about 6:52pm PT on Wednesday, November 1st, 2017, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station contacted 43 years old Robert Ojeda from Bullhead City, Arizona during a traffic stop on North K Street near Race Street in Needles, California.
A record check of Robert Ojeda revealed 2 active felony warrants out of Orange County, California.
A search of the vehicle, revealed a loaded .22 caliber hand gun along with additional ammunition.
This handgun was found to be reported stolen out of Kansas City, Missouri.
Robert Ojeda was prohibited by law from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
Robert Ojeda was arrested without incident and transported to the Colorado River Station Jail in Needles, California where he was booked for PC 29800(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of Firearm, PC 30305(A)(1) – Felon Prohibited from Possessing Ammunition and HS 11370.1 – Possess Control Substance with Firearm.
Robert Ojeda bail was set at $50,000 along with his “No Bail” felony warrants.
The passenger in the vehicle, 36 years old Tammy Morgan from Bullhead City, Arizona was found in possession of a methamphetamine smoking pipe.
Tammy Morgan was arrested and booked for HS 11364(A) – Possess Unlawful Paraphernalia.
Robert Ojeda is currently on felony Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) probation out of Orange County, California for illegal weapon and drug charges.
As part of California Governor Jerry Brown’s Realignment Plan (Assembly Bill 109), to comply with a United States Supreme Court Decision requiring the state to lower its prison population; offenders with non-violent, non-sexual, convictions will serve reduced sentences in county jails or be placed on local supervision through county Probation.
