Needles, CA: Person arrested for passing counterfeit $20 dollar bills and an arrest warrant issued on another person.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, on Tuesday, October 31st, 2017, detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station began an investigation involving counterfeit twenty dollar bills being passed at several businesses in Needles, California.
Several suspects have been attempting to use these bills to make small purchases.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, 28 year old William Maggard and 37 year old Denise Flurry from Needles, California were identified as 2 of the suspects who passed and attempted to pass counterfeit currency at the Westside Chevron on Monday, October 30th, 2017.
On Wednesday, November 1st, 2017, deputies interviewed William Maggard and was subsequently arrested and booked into the Colorado River Station Jail in Needles, California for passing a counterfeit bill, and burglary.
William Maggard is being held on $25,000.00 bail.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station would like to caution local business owners to inspect all twenty dollars bills and to be aware that the fictitious twenty dollar bills have the words FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY on the front and back.
An arrest warrant for Denise Flurry has been obtained and detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating her.
