  • Agenda Item #6(A):

Request for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for a steel commercial warehouse storage facility for the Needles hardware store, Hardware Express, and the applicant’s plumbing business, Colorado River Plumbing, in a C-2 (General Commercial) zone, at 511 W. Broadway, also known as APN 0186-114-15.

Findings of the Facts and Resolution No. 10-18-2017 PC recommending approval of a Conditional Use Permit for a steel commercial warehouse storage facility In a C-2 (General Commercial) zone, at 811 W. Broadway, also known as APN 0186-114-15.

Members of the Needles Planning Commission unanimously voted to approved Findings of the Facts and Resolution No. 10-18-2017 PC.

  • Agenda Item #6(B):

Request for an amendment to Resolution 2-15-2017-2 PC to convert an existing 2300 square foot storage building to a second building for medical marijuana Cultivation at 3515 Needles Highway, also known as APN 0660-162-06.

Members of the Needles Planning Commission unanimously voted to approved Resolution 2-15-2017-2 PC.

Cannabis Locations in Downtown.

Needles City Manager Rick Daniels tells members of the Needles Planning Commission that he will be back in 30 days to bring back a work plan on how to tackle this issue.

Members of the Needles Planning Commission would like to see more ideas from the community regarding cannabis locations in downtown and establishing a downtown district.

Talk of having several open community meetings discussing cannabis locations in downtown and establishing a downtown district may be plan.

  • Agenda Item #6(D):

Introduction of the new Code Enforcement Officer and Building Official, and discussion about the role of the Compliance Team.

This agenda item was a “Discussion” agenda item and no action was needed by members of the Needles Planning Commission.

During the discussion, Needles Code Enforcement Officer Adrian Chavez was asked about the old Burger Hut, located at 701 West Broadway, in Downtown Needles, California.

Burger Hut has been closed since Tuesday, August 12th, 2014 when the roof of the eatery was blow off during a powerful microburst that hit Needles, California.

Needles Code Enforcement Officer Adrian Chavez told members of the Needles Planning Commission that a dateline of Thursday, October 26th, 2017 has been set for Burger Hut.

Needles Code Enforcement Officer Adrian Chavez has informed the owner of Burger Hut about the dateline; that this is their last day to have all of their clean up down and construction started.

If not, citations will be followed and the admin hearing stage, and abatement, lean and that whole process.

Needles Code Enforcement Officer Adrian Chavez also talked about having roll away trash bins set up so the residents can dump their trash and debris off instead of leaving their trash and debris in vacant lots around the community.

Needles Code Enforcement Officer Adrian Chavez said that starting at the end of November 2017, the Gates area in Needles, California will be the first area to have the roll away trash bins set up.

The temporary trash and debris dump sites will be place in different location around Needles, California, including in the “Vista” area, North K Street area, and in the Cibola Street.

The Needles Code Enforcement that dates for the temporary trash and debris dump sites will be announce soon.

Green Acres Medical Marijuana Cultivation Facility Water Maintenance Landscape Plan.

This agenda item was a “Information Only” agenda item and no action was needed by members of the Needles Planning Commission.
