News Update!!: Needles, CA: Latest Information: Fatality rollover crash along Interstate 40.
ZachNews has just received the latest information regarding a fatality rollover crash along Interstate 40, 2 miles west of U.S. Highway 95, west of Needles, California that occurred on Sunday, October 15th, 2017.
According to a press release from the California Highway Patrol – Needles Area, a 1:50pm PT a 2001 Jeep was driving eastbound along Interstate 40 in the #1 lane at approximately 65 mph.
The driver made an unsafe turning move, lost control of the vehicle and overturned in the dirt center median.
Passenger #2, identified as 70 year old Ramona Montoya from Pittsburgh, California, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.
Passenger #3, identified as 76 year old Sanuario Montoyafraijo from Pittsburgh, California, was partially ejected and sustained fatal injuries.
Driver, identified as 46 year old Graciela Montoya from Bay Point, California, suffered minor injuries and was sent to Colorado River Medical Center in Needles, California.
Passenger #1, identified as 64 year old Miguel Ortiz-Sanchez from Phoenix, Arizona, suffered moderate injuries and was also sent to Colorado River Medical Center in Needles, California.
No alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision, no arrest were made, and no mechanical defects were noted or claimed by the driver.
At this moment, the fatal crash is under investigation.
