Adelanto, CA: Homicide detectives travel to Texas to arrest a man in connection with a March 2017 murder.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at 8:06pm PT on Monday, March 20, 2017, deputies from the Adelanto Station responded to a 911 call of a male shot in the 11200 block of Chamberlaine Way in Adelanto, California.
Deputies arrived and found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital. Due to the extent of the victim’s injuries,
Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail responded to the location to conduct the investigation.
At 1:14pm PT on Tuesday, March 21st, 2017, the victim was pronounced deceased.
Through investigation, detectives have identified 37 year old Johnny Lavell Brown from Adelanto, California as the suspect responsible for the death of 36 year old Joshua Jermaine McGinnis from Adelanto, California.
Through investigation, homicide detectives determined that Johnny Lavell Brown had fled to a residence in Arlington, Texas.
Detectives contacted law enforcement officials with the US Marshals and Arlington Police Department for assistance.
On Wednesday, September 6th, 2017, Johnny Lavell Brown was located at a residence in the Heather Glen Townhomes and taken into police custody without incident.
On Sunday, September 10th, 2017, homicide detectives responded to Fort Worth, Texas and took custody of Johnny Lavell Brown.
Johnny Lavell Brown was transported back to San Bernardino County and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC187 Murder.
Johnny Lavell Brown is being held on $1,000,000.00 bail and is scheduled for court on Monday, September 11th, 2017.
