Weather Alert!!: Colorado River Tri-State: More thunderstorms approaching Colorado River communities.
More thunderstorms have been spotted approaching Colorado River communities, including Needles, California and Topock, Arizona.
As seen on the KNBC Channel 4 weather radar, the thunderstorms appear to be moving north and heavy moderate to heavy rain falling and thunder with lightning.
More thunderstorms are possible for communities along the Colorado River overnight.
If you’re in the area along the Colorado River communities, including Needles, California and Topock, Arizona, please be ready for the storms and if there’s any flooding along dirt channels, creeks, or rivers, stay away and don’t drive through the flooded roadway.
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect from 9:00am PT on Friday, September 8th, 2017 until 5:00am PT on Monday, September 11th, 2017 for for portions of northwest Arizona, southeast California, and Nevada, including the following areas, in northwest Arizona, Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Northwest Deserts, and Northwest Plateau. In southeast California, Cadiz Basin, Eastern Mojave Desert, Morongo Basin, and San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley. In Nevada, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Las Vegas Valley, Lincoln County, Northeast Clark County, Sheep Range, Southern Clark County, Spring Mountains-Red Rock Canyon, and Western Clark and Southern Nye County.

According to the Mohave County Division of Emergency Management, sand bag resources are available to the public upon request at the City of Kingman Fire Department, Northern Arizona Fire Department, Golden Valley Fire Department, Mohave Valley Fire Department and the Desert Hills Fire Department.
