Parker Dam, CA: Deputies responded to a boat that struck shoreline.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 8:10pm PT on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017, deputies from the Colorado River Station Marine Enforcement Unit responded to a reported boat collision with injuries, on Lake Havasu in the area of Black Meadow Landing near Parker Dam, California.
When Deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered that a twenty-one foot, 1995 Eliminator had run aground on the California shoreline approximately a mile north of Black Meadow Landing.
The operator stated that he had misjudged the shoreline in the darkness and struck the shoreline at approximately 35 miles per hour.
Both the operator and the passenger, indenified as 71 year old Mark Simmons (Driver) from Irvine, California and 68 year old Steven Holstein (Passenger) from Lake Arrowhead, sustained minor injuries.
They were both treated at the scene by Lake Havasu City Fire and later transported to Lake Havasu Regional Hospital for further treatment.
The boat collision is under investigation.
