Havasu Lake, CA: Boating accident near Chalk Cliffs.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 2:35pm PT on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station – Marine Enforcement Unit responded to a boating accident involving a red 21 feet long 2017 Nordic Carbon ski boat near Chalk Cliffs on Lake Havasu near Havasu Lake, California.
The boat operator, 50 year old Guy Williamson from Queensland, Australia, was travelling at approximately 30 miles per hour in the area of Chalk Cliffs when it began to make a left turn.
During the turning movement, Williamson felt a vibration coming from the rear of the boat.
The boat began to roll during the turn, causing Williamson and the passenger, 44 year old Travis Barron from Lake Havasu City, Arizona, to be ejected.
Williamson and Barron did not suffer any injuries from the collision and refused medical treatment.
The boat began to sink as a result of the accident.
Sea Tow assisted with the recovery of the boat.
