A Needles Planning Commission Meeting was held on Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 inside the Needles City Council Chambers in Needles, California.

Members of the Needles Planning Commission held a Moment of Silence for 73 year old Richard Lee Pyle who passed away on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Richard Lee Pyle was a 22 year resident of Needles, California. He was born on Saturday, July 29th, 1944 in Medford, Oregon. Richard grew up in Big Bear, California and graduated from Big Bear High School.

He entered the California Highway Patrol and rode as a motorcycle officer until he retired. He then worked in the used car industry and became an electrician and continued to work in the construction industry.

He served on many Boards and Commissions for the City of Needles and was a member of the Needles Elks Lodge #1608. He was a volunteer for the Needles Fire Department and the Mohave Valley Rehabilitation Program. His last position was to supervise the upgrade and remodel of the old El Garces Hotel and Train Station in Downtown Needles, California. 

When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed going to the Colorado River fishing and telling jokes.

He is survived by his wife Sherry; children Wendy DeMarco, James Victoria Pyle; and his brothers Lee Alice Legasey and Larry Legasey.

A celebration of Richard Lee Pyle’s life and luncheon will be held at 11:00am PT on Saturday, September 30th, 2017 at the Elks Lodge #1608, located at 1000 Lillyhill Drive, in Needles, California.
