Traffic Update!!: Needles, CA: When will the new traffic signals be turn on?
Since the new traffic signals were installed at 3 locations around Needles, California as part of the Interstate 40 / Arizona Highway 95 Connector Project in May 2017, everybody have been asking when are the traffic signals going to be turn on?
According to Michael Stewart, Principal Supervising Inspector with W.S.P. Parsons Brinckerhoff, “the Contractor will be onsite installing the controllers on Monday. As each unit is energized, the signal will be put on red flash. Heads will be uncovered, lenses aligned. Actual automatic turn-on will be on Thursday for all three locations.
The new traffic signals were installed at the intersections of J Street and West Broadway, West Broadway and Needles Highway, and North K Street and Needles Highway.
Michael Stewart also said, “A representative of the controller manufacturer and the ‘opticom’ manufacturer (emergency vehicle override) will be onsite for assistance during turn-on.”
The Interstate 40 / Arizona Highway 95 Connector Project was completed at the end of May 2017 making improvements to the roadway, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks, and replaced paving and striping, utility relocation, drainage devices, and retaining walls along J Street, West Broadway, Needles Highway, and North K Street.
