News Update!!: Victorville, CA: Deputies arrested 3 people in the murder of 12 year old Makiya Walls.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, through investigation, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Investigators were able to identify 26 year old Anthony Pitts from Adelanto, California as the suspect involved in the murder of 12 year old Makiya Walls.

At approximately 6:00pm on Thursday, August 10th, 2017, members of Specialized Enforcement Division arrested Anthony Pitts leaving his mother’s home in Redlands, California.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, 29 year old Danielle Cummings from Adelanto, California and 28 year old Reyna Mercado from Adelanto, California were arrested at the Victorville Police Station following interviews with Homicide Investigators.
The 2 women were arrested on murder charges in connection with the case, but their alleged roles in the shooting were not disclosed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators determined there was an ongoing feud between the suspects and victims and, the victim’s residence was targeted by Pitts, Cummings and Mercado.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect, Anthony Pitts, is a documented gang member.
The 3 suspects were transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Murder, and are expected to make their first court appearance next week.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 8:23pm PT on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the report of multiple shots fired in the 17000 block of Monaco Drive in Victorville, California.
Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, identified as 12 year old Makiya Walls from Victorville, California, suffering from gunshot wounds, medical personnel arrived on scene and the victim was rushed to a local area hospital, but despite life-saving measures, she was pronounced deceased at 9:57pm PT.

Witnesses in the area advised deputies they observed a black male adult walking up to the residence armed with a shotgun, firing several rounds into the residence.
Witness also described a white, possible 4 door sedan unknown make or model, speeding from the area immediately after the shots were fired.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded to the scene and are conducting the investigation.
