Breaking News!!: Paris, France: Terrorist Ambush Attack on the Champs-Elysees.
Authorities in France say 3 police department officers were ambushed at the Champs-Elysees in Paris, France on Thursday, April 20th, 2017.
The man armed with a gun pulled up beside a parked police car near the Franklin Roosevelt Metro Station and opened fire at around 9:00pm Local Time (12:00pm PT).
A police department officer died and the 2 police department officers were injured.
The terrorist group ISIS is claiming responsibility for the Champs-Elysees attack on police department officers, and released a statement through the Amaq Media agency identified the shooter as “one of the Islamic State fighters.”
The terrorist gunman was fatally shot while trying to flee on foot down the famed boulevard.
Authorities have not yet identified the terrorist gunman, but authorities had the terrorist gunman on their radar.
French authorities were searching the terrorist gunman’s home in the Paris suburb of Chelles and looking for possible accomplices.
“We are greatly determined to fight terrorism here and every place where our forces are engaged. My thoughts are with the family of the police officer killed and those close to the wounded,” said French President Francois Hollande.
