Breaking News!!: Hesperia, CA: Dive Team members recovered the body of a toddler in the aqueduct.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 12:01pm PT on Thursday, March 16th, 2017 deputies from the Hesperia Police Department and Sheriff’s Dive Team members responded to the report of a possible body in the aqueduct south of Farmington near 7th Avenue in Hesperia, California.
Dive Team members recovered the body of a toddler believed to be 2 year old Noah Abbott from Hesperia, California.
The Coroner’s Office responded to the location and took possession of the victim.
Scientific positive identification is pending and will be determined by the Coroner’s Office.
Dive Team members have been searching along the aqueduct for Noah Abbott since the tragic vehicle crash into an aqueduct that occurred 2 weeks ago.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 6:40pm PT on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017, deputies from the Hesperia Police Department and paramedics from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a vehicle collision where the car became fully submerged in the aqueduct at Main Street and Escondido in Hesperia, California.
Upon arrival, 10 year old Elijah Estrada from Hesperia, California was found in the aqueduct holding onto floatation buoys with injuries.
Elijah Estrada informed deputies that there were 3 more persons inside the vehicle.
Elijah Estrada was transported to a local area hospital where he continues to recover from his injuries.
The vehicle described as red Volkswagen convertible was not visible, as it was fully submerged in the water.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s aviation 40K2 responded to assist in the search.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Dive Team members and deputies from the Hesperia Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene.
Dive team members located 3 year old Jeremiah Robert Abbott from Hesperia, California unconscious in the water and was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The vehicle was located and removed from the water.
The driver, 31 year old Christina Eileen Estrada from Hesperia, California, was found inside the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Dive Team members began searching the aqueduct for 2 year old Noah Abbott from Hesperia, California and continued searching for days after the crash.
The M.A.I.T. Investigation into the cause of the traffic collision is still ongoing.
