News Alert!!: Old Town Pasadena, CA: Authorities searching for man who threw homemade explosive device into Cheesecake Factory.

Authorities were searching for a man who threw a homemade explosive device into a crowded Cheesecake Factory, located at 2 West Colorado Boulevard, Old Town Pasadena, California just after 6:00pm PT on Thursday, February 2nd, 2017.

The explosion and heavy smoke inside the Cheesecake Factory sent frightened diners fleeing out to the exits.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad responded and rendered the device and restaurant safe.

According to the Pasadena Police Department, there were no serious injuries from the explosion.

The suspect was described as about 6 feet tall with a thin build, a heavy beard, and was wearing all black clothing and a black beanie.

The Pasadena Police Department are investigating the incident and as a precaution, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has also been contacted.

The Cheesecake Factory released a statement saying, “This evening an incendiary device exploded within our Pasadena restaurant. Thankfully, none of our guests or staff was injured. Law enforcement is actively investigating the incident and we hope to reopen in Pasadena on Friday, as usual.”
