Storm Watch 2016!!: Needles, CA: Rain arrives to start the winter season in Needles, California.

Rain arrived to start the winter season in Needles, California on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016.


The day began with light rain falling along Route 66 and at Santa Fe Park in Downtown Needles, California.

People who were out shopping at the Community Thrift Shop next door to the Needles Regional Museum were were enjoying the rain and is needed out here in the desert.


As night fell, the rain continued to fall over the parking lot and along J Street next to the Needles City Council Chambers and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station in Needles, California.

Well coming back from a news story, ZachNews Photojournalists Zachary A. Lopez and Branden Lopez spotted a couple with a babe get a ride to their destination thanks to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputy who spotted them walking in the rain along J Street near the new Dollar General store.

More light rain, moderate, and heavy rain will continue to move north into the Needles, California and across San Bernardino County, California, Clark County, Nevada, and Mohave County, Arizona overnight and for the next few days.

Please make sure to be prepare for any weather related problems, including having an emergency kit and a surviver kit in case of an emergency happens or if you’re stuck on the roadway in the storm or snowy conditions.

Please make sure to drive safety on the roads, highways, and interstates, especially watching out for any flooded roadways or icy roadways.

If heading to the mountains, please make sure to have your tire chains ready in case you need them.
