Needles, CA: Suspect wanted for burglary identified and arrested.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, on Tuesday, September 27th, 2016, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Flora Vista in Needles, California following the report of a burglary that had occurred.
On Friday, October 7th, 2016, the suspect, later identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as 28 year old Richard Ryan Leonard of Needles, California, returned to the residence and attempted to break in a second time.
The victim was home and confronted the suspect, causing the suspect to flee on foot.
Deputies responded to the residence and by using evidence from the original theft and new evidence from the second burglary attempt, they were able to identify the suspect.
Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Richard Ryan Leonard and was arrested on Saturday, October 8th, 2016 at 1707 West Needles Highway in Needles, California.
Richard Ryan Leonard was transported and booked into the Colorado River Station Jail in Needles, California for 2 counts of first degree burglary.
