Breaking News!!: Palm Springs, CA: Shooter at large after killing 2 law enforcement officers.

According to the Palms Springs Police Department, at least 2 law enforcement officers are dead and another law enforcement officer was injured and is hospitalized after a shooting in Palm Springs, California.

The shooting occurred just after 1:00pm PT on Saturday, October 8th, 2016 at a house on the 2700 block of Cypress Avenue in Palm Springs, California.

The law enforcement officers were reportedly responding to a family disturbance call before the shooting occurred.

A woman reported that her adult son was causing a disturbance.

When law enforcement officers arrived, a man threatened that he would shoot through the door.

All 3 people were taken to a hospital, where the 2 law enforcement officers, identified as Officer Jose Gilbert Vega and Officer Lesley Zerebny, died from their injuries.

Officer Jose Gilbert Vega was a 35 year veteran of the police department.

Officer Jose Gilbert Vega is survived by his wife and 8 children.

Officer Lesley Zerebny was with the department for a year and a half and had just returned to work after giving birth to a 4 month old baby.

Officer Lesley Zerebny is survived by her husband, a Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy, and a child.

Several law enforcement agencies and SWAT teams were assisting with the investigation, with the police perimeter stretching several blocks.

According to the Palms Springs Police Department, the shooter who remains at large and an actively searching is happening.
