Rusty Cooper of the Kingman Police Department tells NBC affiliate KSNV Channel 3 that the suspect died in the shooting.
The Bullhead City Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred in Kingman, Arizona and released more information on what happened.
According to the Bullhead City Police Department, at approximately 9:30am PT on Thursday, September 29th, 2016, the Kingman Police Department executed a search warrant for stolen property at a residence in the 1700 block of Miami Avenue in Kingman, Arizona.
Initial information indicates that 53 year old Jeffrey Clair Cave of Kingman, Arizona fired a weapon toward officers and a police officer was shot.
Jeffrey Clair Cave was also shot and later pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kingman Police Department Officer was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently listed in serious, but stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
It is protocol to have an outside agency investigate an officer involved shooting incident.
