Needles, CA: Suspects arrested after a traffic stop of a stolen vehicle.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, around 6:40pm PT on Saturday, August 20th , 2016, deputies from the Colorado River Station conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of O Street and Barrackman Court in Needles, California the vehicle was reported stolen from Topock, Arizona.
The vehicle was occupied by 4 people, identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as 22 years old Robert Carranza from Topock, Arizona; 27 years old Andrew Muehlhausen from Fort Mohave, Arizona; 36 years old Rachel Reyes from Needles, California; and 42 years old Heather Jewell from Needles, California.
A high risk traffic stop was initiated and the occupants were detained.
Further investigation revealed a passenger, Robert Carranza, had taken the car without permission from the registered owner in Topock, Arizona on Thursday, August 18th, 2016.
A search of the passengers and vehicle revealed Rachel Reyes and Heather Jewell had narcotic paraphernalia.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, The suspects were arrested for VC 10851(a) Vehicle Theft, PC 496 D(a), Possession of Stolen Property, and HS 11364a, Possession of Paraphernalia.
Robert Carranza was arrested for vehicle theft and booked at the Needles Jail, his bail was set at $50,000.
Andrew Muehlhausen was arrested for possession of stolen property and booked at the Needles jail, his bail was set at $50,000.
Both Rachel Reyes and Heather Jewell were arrested for possession of paraphernalia and were released at the scene.
