There has been a deadly shooting on law enforcement officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sunday, July 17th, 2016.

The deadly shooting took place just before 9:00am CT, less than a mile from police headquarters, responding to a person with a rifle near a gas station on Airline Highway.
As law enforcement officers arrived, gunfire occurred.
Authorities are saying that at least 2 law enforcement officers were killed and 3 law enforcement officers were wounded.
Authorities say that a suspect was killed outside a fitness center and they were using a specialized robot to check for explosives near the body.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, there’s no active shooter situation happen at this moment, but the F.B.I. and A.T.F. are helping local authorities in the investigation in case there’s anybody else involved in this attack.
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards rushed to the hospital where the shot officers were taken.
In a statement, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards said, “Rest assured, every resource available to the State of Louisiana will be used to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.”
United States of America President Barack Obama is saying that there’s no justification for violence against law enforcement and that the attacks are the work of cowards who speak for no one.
“These are attacks on public servants, on the rule of law, and on civilized society, and they have to stop,” said United States of America President Barack Obama.
