Breaking News!!: Calabasas, CA: Brush fire burning.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a brush fire is burning near homes in the hills of Calabasas, California.

The 3 alarm brush fire, named the Old Fire, was reported at around 4:30pm PT on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 in the area of 23062 Mulholland Highway in Calabasas, California.

There is reports of 2 to 3 spots where the brush fire is burning, including near Palm Drive and Calabasas High School.

The brush fire has burned 2 acres and is moving closure to homes.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department, a mandatory evacuation has been issued for all homes on Summit Drive, Ivy Trail, Eddingham, Adamsville, and in the Highlands community.

An evacuation center has been set up for residents at Agoura High School located at 28545 West Driver Avenue in Agoura Hills, California.

People with large animals asked to go to Pierce College located at 6201 Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills, California.

The brush fire has reportedly damaged a structure on the 3500 block of Locust Drive and flames are near homes along the 3500 block of Poppy Seed.

Firefighters and at least 3 water-dropping helicopters are working to put out this brush fire.

The cause of the brush fire is unknown, but unconfirmed reports that a vehicle crashed into a utility pole bring down utility lines causing the brush fire.
