A press conference was held at 3:00pm CT on Friday, April 22nd, 2016 regarding the death of Prince.

According to the Midwest Medical Examiners Office, the autopsy on Prince Rogers Nelson began at 9:00am CT on Friday, April 22nd, 2016 on behalf of the Carver County Sheriff’s Office and was completed by 1:00pm CT on Friday, April 22nd, 2016.

Prince’s body was released to his family in the afternoon on Friday, April 22nd, 2016.

Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson told the news media that Prince as a good neighbor to Carver County and they will honor his privacy.

Singer Prince died on Thursday, April 21st, 2016 at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Prince’s publicist confirmed the pop music superstar’s death.

In a statement, Prince’s Publicist Yvette Noel-Schure said, “It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer. Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57. There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time.”
