Weather Alert!!: Needles, CA: Wind Advisory!!
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a Wind Advisory from 12:00am PT on Friday, April 15th, 2016 to 5:00pm PT on Saturday, April 16th, 2016 for portions of San Bernardino County, California; Inyo County, California; Mohave County, Arizona; and Clark County, Nevada.
Communities effected by the Wind Advisory include Needles, California; Vidal Junction, California; Bishop, California; Lone Pine, California; Westgard Pass, California; Bristlecone Pine, California; Furnace Creek, California; Stovepipe Wells, California; Shoshone, California; Bullhead City, Arizona; Mohave Valley, Arizona; Topock, Arizona; Oatman, Arizona; Colorado City, Arizona; Tuweep, Arizona; Mt. Trumbell, Arizona; Western Grand Canyon, Arizona; Dolan Springs, Arizona; Golden Valley, Arizona; Kingman, Arizona; Desert Hills, Arizona; Lake Havasu City, Arizona; Mesquite, Nevada; Pahrump, Nevada; Las Vegas, Nevada; North Las Vegas, Nevada; Henderson, Nevada; Boulder City, Nevada; Indian Springs, Nevada; Primm, Nevada; Searchlight, Nevada; Cal-Nev-Ari, Nevada; Laughlin, Nevada; and the Hoover Dam, Upper Colorado River Valley, Death Valley National Park, and Lake Mead National Recreation areas.
Impacts include difficult travel conditions due to strong…gusty crosswinds, temporary fences and structures may be damaged or displaced, and blowing dust is possible in areas which received little to no precipitation in the last week.
Strong winds in excess of 30 mph will create dangerous boating conditions on area lakes. These winds will create very choppy waters and generate large waves which could capsize or swamp small craft.
