News Update!!: Needles, CA: Latest information regarding child drowning at the community swimming pool.
ZachNews have the latest information regarding a child drowning at a community swimming pool in Needles, California.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 2:51pm PT on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016, California Highway Patrol dispatch received an emergency call of a child drowning at the community swimming pool of the Rio Buena Vista housing complex in Needles, California.
A 3 year old child was found in the spa unresponsive.
The child had been underwater for an unknown amount of time, when emergency personnel arrived on scene several adults were performing CPR on the child at the scene.
The child was rushed by ambulance to the Colorado River Medical Center but was then air lifted to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada for further medical treatment.
At approximately 11:49am PT on Monday, April 4th, 2016, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station was advised by medical staff at the Sunrise Hospital regarding the child’s condition.
At 9:12am PT on Tuesday, April 5th, 2016, ZachNews talked with Detective Tim Preston from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station.
The child’s condition, Detective Tim Preston tells ZachNews that the child did survive, is in the hospital, and is in serious condition, but could not go into details.
The investigation, Detective Tim Preston tells ZachNews that the investigation continues, but this incident is looking like it was an accident.
Detective Tim Preston also tells ZachNews that there was family members nearby when the incident.
As the emergency call, Detective Tim Preston tells ZachNews that if somebody calls using a cellular phone or mobile device, the call gets picks up by highway patrol.
The California Highway Patrol Dispatch received the call then they contacted the San Bernardino County Fire Department which responded.
