Breaking News!!: Downtown Los Angeles, CA: Construction worker dies after falling 53 stories from new Wilshire Grand Center skyscraper.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a construction worker fell to his death well working on the site of the new Wilshire Grand skyscraper, located on the 600 block of South Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles, California, at around 12:30pm PT on Thursday, March 17th, 2016.

The body collided with the rear of a car that was driving down the street.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the woman in the car was being checked out by Los Angeles Fire Department Firefighters.
Authorities are saying that the construction worker was a electrician and had no clearance to work above the third floor.
It’s unclear if the construction worker was wearing any safety gear and how, even with barriers allegedly in place, the construction worker got so close to the building’s edge.
Both Cal/OSHA and the Los Angeles Police Department are investigation this incident and has revealed that the fall was not work-related, and it appears there were no “fall protection” violations.
“On behalf of our whole project team, we extend our condolences to the family,” said Chris Martin, chief executive of Martin Project Management.
The electrician has not been identified, but members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers tells NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 that the tragedy hits close to home and reminds them of the dangers of the job.
Electrician Miguel Aquino tells NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4, “We as a family, we are going to make donations and get together for them. When he hear about a brother that’s in an accident… we know the dangers.”
Electrician Miguel Aquino also tells NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4, “Above six feet we are supposed to be tied up with a harness and tied off to a beam.”
The massive project site will remains closed on Friday, March 18th, 2016.
The construction worker was working on the new skyscraper called the Wilshire Grand Center which once completed will be the newest tallest skyscraper in Downtown Los Angeles, California and reportedly the West Coast with a height of 1,099 feet and will have 73 stories.
Currently, the tallest skyscraper in Downtown Los Angeles, California is the U.S. Bank Tower, which rises 1,018 feet, has 73 stories, and was completed in 1989.
