Victorville, CA: Firefighters battled a structure fire.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, at 8:45pm PT on Wednesday, March 9th, 2016, the San Bernardino County Fire Department received reports of a structure fire on the 14800 block of Deerfield Street in Victorville, California.
Initial reports stated there was a garage on fire, with a person still in the home.
San Bernardino County Fire Department Medic Engine 312 arrived on scene within 6 minutes to find heavy pressurized smoke coming from the attached garage of a single story residence.
Initial fire attack was initiated with the priority being rescue and to keep the fire from spreading into the residence.
The fire became well established in the attic space with heavy fire and smoke damage to approximately 50 percent of the home.
Firefighters were hampered with poor visibility and heavy fire conditions during the interior attack.
A primary search was conducted and checked clear.
Firefighters were able to gain control of the fire within approximately 25 minutes.
There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians
San Bernardino County Fire Department responded with 4 paramedic engine companies, a paramedic truck company, a paramedic squad, a brush patrol, a battalion chief, and a fire investigator for a total of 21 personnel.
The cause is currently under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal.
