News Alert!!: Santa Ana, CA: Bac Duong surrendered, but 2 escaped inmates still at large.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department Officials held a news conference on Friday, January 29th, 2016 providing the latest information in the search for 3 inmates who escaped from the Orange County Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana, California last week.

According to Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeff Hallock, 43 year old Bac Duong surrendered to authorities in Santa Ana, California at around 11:40am PT on Friday, January 29th, 2016 after approaching a civilian that he wanted to turn himself in.

Bac Duong was taken into police custody and returned the Orange County Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana, California.

On Friday, January 22nd, 2016, 3 inmates (Hossein Nayeri and Jonathan Tieu, and Bac Duong) were discovered unaccounted for at the Orange County Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana, California

An immediate search was conducted of the Central Jail Complex and adjacent Civic Center area of Santa Ana, California; however, all indications are that the inmates escaped the jail and have fled the area. 

With the arrest of Bac Duong, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement agencies across California are continuing to search for the remaining 2 escaped inmates.

During the news conference, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Officials told news reporters that all 3 escaped inmates were spotted in the San Jose, California area, likely using the white G.M.C. van that was stolen from South Los Angeles, California on Saturday, January 24th, 2016, and the 2 escaped inmates may be heading to Fresno California.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department want the public to know that the $200,000 reward is still being offered for information leading to the capture of fugitives 37 year old Hossein Nayeri and 20 year old Jonathan Tieu.

Both Hossein Nayeri and Jonathan Tieu are to be considered dangerous and possibly armed.
