Big River, CA: Suspect arrested after barricade standoff.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, on Monday January 25th, 2016, 45 year old Philip Stephen Holsborg of Big River, California was involved in an argument with his wife which became physical.
When she attempted to call 911, Philip Stephen Holsborg ripped the phone cord out of the wall and made criminal threats towards her and any law enforcement deputies that arrived.
Deputies responded to the resident and took a report however, Philip Stephen Holsborg had left the residence prior to their arrival.
Deputies obtained a felony arrest warrant for Philip Stephen Holsborg the next day.
On Wednesday, January 27th, 2016, deputies responded to the residence to arrest Philip Stephen Holsborg located on the 149000 block of Mohawk Trail in Big River, California.
But, before they arrived, he barricaded himself inside and refused orders to come out.
The San Bernardino County Sheriffs Specialized Enforcement Division (S.E.D.) was brought in to assist in his apprehension.
After several hours, Philip Stephen Holsborg surrendered without incident to law enforcement personnel.
Philip Stephen Holsborg was later booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Criminal Threats.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department received assistance from La Paz County Sheriffs, the Parker Police Department, and the Kingman Police Department.
