News Update!!: Las Vegas, NV: Woman accused of sidewalk hit and run attack could be facing more than 1,000 years in prison.

The woman who allegedly mowed down dozens of people and killing a person in a sidewalk hit and run attack on the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, December 20th, 2015 could be facing more than 1,000 years in prison if she is convicted.

Prosecutors amended their criminal complaint against 24 year old Lakeisha Nicole Holloway was arraigned at the Regional Justice Center on Wednesday, January 20th, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lakeisha Nicole Holloway faces 71 charges, including one count of open murder with use of a deadly weapon, 30 counts of attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon, and 2 counts of child abuse.

The child abuse counts relate to Lakeisha Nicole Holloway’s daughter who was in the back seat when Lakeisha Nicole Holloway drove her vehicle onto the sidewalk, and for hitting a 11 year old victim.

Lakeisha Nicole Holloway, who is originally from Oregon but had been living in her car with her 3 year old daughter at the time of the sidewalk hit and run attack.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department have previously said that the incident was a premeditated attack, and Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said that if she’s convicted on all 71 counts, Lakeisha Nicole Holloway could be sentenced to more than 1,000 years in prison.

Prosecutors dropped a preliminary count of leaving the scene of an accident.

According to Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo, the charges would “ensure the protection of our community from the defendant for a very long time.”

Lakeisha Nicole Hillary’s Public Defender Attorney Scott Coffee, told NBC affiliate KSNV Channel 3 that she was “doing well” and was not on suicide watch.

Lakeisha Nicole Holloway remains held without bond in protective police custody and her next court hearing is scheduled on Thursday, February 4th, 2016.
