Victorville, CA: Jose Garcia flees from authorities with child following robbery.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 12:13pm PT on Wednesday, January 6th, 2016, the suspects, 24 year old Jose Garcia of Victorville, California and a 16 year old male juvenile of Victorville, California entered the Walmart located at 11896 Amargosa Road in Victorville, California concealed several B.B. guns and make up in a diaper bag.
The suspects passed all points of sale and attempt to leave the store without paying for the concealed merchandise.
The suspects were confronted by loss prevention associates and the 16 year old suspect pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened the loss prevention associates.
Both suspects were able to escape in a black Honda Accord heading north on Amargosa Road.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputies were able to locate the suspect vehicle traveling north on Interstate 15 from Bear Valley Road and attempted to make a traffic stop.
The suspects refused to pull over and a pursuit ensued, reaching speeds of approximately 85 mph, while the suspect drove recklessly cutting in and out of traffic.
The suspects exited the freeway at Palmdale Road and continued north onto Mariposa Road and then onto Palmdale Rroad at Seventh Street.
The pursuit ended in Victorville, California near the intersection of East Sage and 7th Street, where both of the suspects fled from the vehicle on foot.
The 16 year old male juvenile was caught after a foot pursuit with deputies.
Jose Garcia exited the vehicle, removing his year old child from the rear seat and fled the scene in the opposite direction.
At 6:00pm PT, Jose Garcia arrived at the home of a family member in Victorville, California and left the year old child in their care.
Jose Garcia left that location on foot and remains outstanding.
