Downtown Needles, CA: Tattered flag of the United States of America replaced.

Downtown Needles, CA: Tattered flag of the United States of America replaced.

Sam Johnson of Sam’s Jams and George DeLeon of St. Vincent de Paul and is a Veterans of Foreign Post 404 Commander met at Santa Fe Park in Downtown Needles, California to replace a tattered flag of the United States of America on Thursday, December 10th, 2015.

The new America flag was donated by Sam Johnson’s mother Eileen Anthony to replace the tattered American flag that became tattered from being blown in the winds against untrimmed trees.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez was there at Santa Fe Park as both Sam Johnson and George DeLeon lowered the tattered American flag and raised the new American flag.

Sam Johnson and George DeLeon properly folded the tattered American flag and George DeLeon took the tattered American flag to be retired respectfully.

The site of the new American flag being raised brought joy to people watching across the street at the Needles Regional Museum seeing that the spirit and pride of the United States of America continues to live strong in our community.
