Needles, CA: Deputies conducted a Contractors State License Board Operation.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, from  8:00am to 5:00pm PT on Wednesday, November 18th,2015, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, assisted investigators from the Contractors State License Board with an Operation in Needles, California.

The pro- active undercover enforcement event was planned based on information from informants / complainants indicating criminal activity involving construction and construction improvement work by non-licensed contractors.

Investigators contacted subjects that were advertising for contracting services in the Colorado River Tri-State area without listing a contractor’s license number in the ad.

Appointments were made with the subjects throughout the day, to give bids to perform the work advertised.

Several people responded to the location at 1925 Luna Vista in Needles, California.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at least 8 people that responded were found to be in violation of contracting without a license and those 8 people were arrested.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department identified the 8 people in their press release as 41 year old John May of Laughlin, Nevada; 44 year old Frank Doria of Needles, California; 58 year old Jeffrey Ryther of Mohave Valley, Arizona; 50 year old William Breland of Fort Mohave, Arizona; 61 year old Phillip Jacobs of Bullhead City, Arizona; 57 year old Randy Collins of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; 29 year old Gary Roberts of Bullhead City, Arizona; and 55 year old Thomas Emery of Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Later, the 8 people were released in the field with a Notice to Appear in Victorville Superior Court on a later date.
