News Alert!!: Needles, CA: Spraying for mosquitoes begins Wednesday.
According to the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health, Division of Environmental Health Services, due to rising numbers of adult mosquitoes in the City of Needles, the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health, Division of Environmental Health Services (DEHS), Mosquito and Vector Control Program (MVCP) will spray pesticide from trucks in the areas listed below beginning on Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 from 9:00am to 6:00pm PT if weather permits.
San Bernardino County Department of Public Health, Division of Environmental Health Services added, “Very low application rates of the pesticide Pyrenone 25-5 are needed to control mosquitos. Given the low application rate that will be sprayed, adverse health effects are not expected. Should individuals feel they are experiencing effects from the spraying they should contact a health professional. DEHS advises persons to stay indoors during the ground spraying of pesticides and avoid direct contact with the spray.”
For additional information regarding Pyrenone 25-5 and other mosquito control products, please see the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPS) website at:
