Highland, CA: Man arrested on various charges of lewd acts with a minor.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015, Highland Police Department received information from the victim’s father that his 15 year old daughter had been chatting with 21 year old Efrain Medina of Los Angeles, California on a social media site, and later met with Efrain Medina in Highland, California and engaged in sexual acts on at least one occasion.
Highland Police Department Detectives began an investigation, and made contact with Medina and continued chatting with him on the social media site.
The chat conversation was sexual in nature, and Efrain Medina identified himself as being 21 years old.
Efrain Medina agreed to meet the 15 year old victim again; so they could engage in sex and smoke marijuana and drink alcohol together.
At about 8:25 PT on Sunday, September 27th, 2015, Efrain Medina arrived at the pre-arranged meeting location; where he was contacted by deputies.
Efrain Medina was found to be in possession of condoms, marijuana, and alcohol in his vehicle.
Efrain Medina was arrested for PC 288.3 – Contact Child w/ Intent to Commit Lewd Acts, PC 288.4 – Meet child w/ Intent to Commit Lewd Acts, and PC 288a (b) (2) – Oral Copulation with a Minor under 16 years old.
Efrain Medina was booked into San Bernardino County Jail and is being held in lieu of $ 100,000 bail.
Detectives are releasing Efrain Medina’s booking photo as they believe that Efrain Medina has previously met with other minors with the intent to have sexual relations.
