San Bernardino, CA: Person arrested after police pursuit through several cities.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at 12:22am PT on Tuesday, September 15th, 2015, a deputy from the Central Station observed a silver Honda Accord pass him at a high rate of speed.

The deputy made a U-turn and the driver, later identified as 21 year old Iovonn Flowers of San Bernardino, California made an evasive move by turning down a residential street.

The deputy caught up to the vehicle and turned on his emergency lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop.

Iovonn Flowers accelerated and the deputy initiated a pursuit.

The police pursuit was aided by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Aviation Helicopter.

Speeds from the 25 mile police pursuit were in excess of 100 mph as Iovonn Flowers led deputies through San Bernardino, California; Rialto, California; Devore, California; and back to San Bernardino, California again.

The police pursuit was finally terminated when a deputy conducted a Pursuit Intervention Technique (P.I.T.) maneuver.

The Pursuit Intervention Technique (P.I.T.) maneuver caused the suspect vehicle to spin out, collide with a curb and jump onto a sidewalk.

The vehicle came to rest wedged between a tree and a block wall in front of a residence in San Bernardino, California.

Iovonn Flowers and 2 occupants were taken into police custody and received medical attention for injuries.

The 2 occupants were later released, as they stated they plead with Iovonn Flowers to stop the vehicle numerous times during the pursuit.

Iovonn Flowers was arrested, without further incident, transported and booked into the Central Detention Center for Felony Evading and False Imprisonment.
