Bullhead City, AZ: Community to remember Isabella “Bella” Grogan Cannella.

It has been a year since the tragic loss of 8 year old Isabella “Bella” Grogan Cannella of Bullhead City, Arizona.

Isabella “Bella” Grogan Cannella was reported missing on the morning of Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014 sparking a whole community of people searching for the missing girl.

On Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014, a tracking unit from the Mohave County Search and Rescue came across a body in a shallow grave near her Lakeside Drive home.

Authorities later confirmed that the body found was that of missing Isabella “Bella” Grogan Cannella.

Isabella “Bella” Grogan Cannella story and death touched the lives in communities in and outside Bullhead City, Arizona and a memorial rock garden was built in her name, Bella’s Rock Garden.

The public is welcome to come to remember the life and memory for Isabella “Bella” Grogan Cannella at a Bella’s Rock Garden Dedication event from 9:00am to 2:00pm MST on Saturday, September 5th,2015 inside the Don Sullivan Pavilion at Rotary Park located at 2315 Balboa Drive in Bullhead City, Arizona.

Organizers welcome people to bring balloons for a balloon release during the event.

On Thursday, September 4th, 2014, Bullhead City Police Department made an arrest in connection to the disappearance of 8 year old Isabella “Bella” Grogan Cannella.

The suspect, 27 year old Justin James Rector, was arrest and later charged with first degree murder, kidnapping, child abuse and abandonment of a dead body in the kidnapping and murder of 8 year old Isabella “Bella” Grogan Cannella.

On Friday, August 28th, 2015, Justin James Rector’s Attorneys Gerald Gavin and Ron Gilleo seek to block the death penalty for their client, arguing that execution by lethal injection is a cruel and unusual punishment in violation of the United States Constitution.

Justin James Rector’s Attorneys Gerald Gavin argued that the death penalty discriminates against poor, young, male defendants.

Justin James Rector’s Attorneys Gerald Gavin also argued that the death penalty has been imposed arbitrary and irrationally in Arizona, also in violation of the United States Constitution.

Justin James Rector’s Attorneys Gerald Gavin then asked prosecutors to disclose the juvenile records of witnesses the prosecutor are expected to call at Justin James Rector’s trial in 2016.

Justin James Rector’s next court hearing is set for Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 and Justin James Rector’s murder trial is set to begin on Monday, October 17th, 2016.

Mohave County Attorney Gregory Mcphillips is seeking the death penalty against Justin James Rector.
