Needles, CA: Supervisor Robert A. Lovingood seeks local students for Youth Advisory Council.
San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Robert A. Lovingood is seeking high school students interested in serving on the First District Youth Advisory Council.
Participants of the First District Youth Advisory Council will help San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Robert A. Lovingood and his staff to identify issues that are important to young people in the First District of San Bernardino County, California.
Participation on the First District Youth Advisory Council also gives students an opportunity to become involved in their communities and learn about county government in San Bernardino County, California.
The First District Youth Advisory Council will also participate in local volunteer activities and events.
Students selected from the Needles area can video conference into the meetings from the Needles Unified School District Office and will be offered volunteer opportunities in the Needles, California area.
Applications for the Youth Advisory Council are now available for the 2015-2016 school year.
All high school students in the First District with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible to apply.
The Youth Advisory Council will meet twice monthly beginning in September 2015 in Victorville, California.
The final meeting will take place at a Board of Supervisor’s meeting in San Bernardino, California in May or June of 2016.
Students must provide their own transportation to and from meetings.
Students serving on the council are required to attend at least 10 meetings and complete one community service project and must have the consent of a parent to participate.
