Mohave Valley, AZ: River Valley Tavern and the community gives to the victims of the “Willow Fire”.

The community came together at the River Valley Tavern in Mohave Valley, Arizona for a “Fire Victims Relief” held on Saturday, August 15th, 2015.

People came by to donate money and drop off clothes, shoes, blankets, and many other item to residents who lost everything and were deeply affected by the “Willow Fire” which started on Saturday, August 8th, 2015 and destroyed several homes in Mohave Valley, Arizona.

The event had great music, a friendly atmosphere, and lots of tasty goodies to go with the delicious plate of barbecue roasted herb chicken with baked beans.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez arrived with Terry “Tigger” King, a resident who lost his home in the “Willow Fire”, to the River Valley Tavern after a morning drive of dropping off food boxes with some of the residents in the affected neighborhood where the “Willow Fire” burned.

Terry “Tigger” King tells ZachNews that his is so happy by the amount of people who cared his family and thanked everybody for giving to the victims of the “Willow Fire”.

Vickie Sanders of the River Valley Tavern spoke to ZachNews and thanked all of the supports who came out to help the victims of the “Willow Fire” and discussed about a collect bucket that will be set up inside the River Valley Tavern as well as plans in the future donation drives for the victims of the “Willow Fire”.

As the rebuilding process will take months, Vickie Sanders tells ZachNews that residents will need help and donations, such as furniture, and we’ll have another event for those items in the future.

People can donate money into their donation bucket inside the River Valley Tavern which is located at 8804 Mohave Valley Highway (Arizona 95) in Mohave Valley, Arizona.

With all that has happen in the last week to this community, Mohave Valley, Arizona continues to stand strong and united with many people from all over the Colorado River Tri-State area and beyond giving their love and support.
