News Alert!!: Colorado River Tri-State: Dust storm hits “Willow Fire” area.
A huge moving gust of winds blow dust and picked up ash from the “Willow Fire” at around 4:20pm PT on Friday, August 14th, 2015.
The dust and ash storm blow across Mohave Valley, Arizona and Needles, California where ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez was covering the Dance Trax 51 Registration and Taco Dinner which was donating money to a family who lost home in “Willow Fire” which started on Saturday, August 8th, 2015 in Mohave Valley, Arizona.
ZachNews captured the dust and ash storm which 20 minutes before starting, the sky was partly cloudy and no dust anywhere around the Colorado River Tri-State area.
Many of the people attending the Dance Trax 51 Registration and Taco Dinner tell ZachNews that the dust storm with the ash just came out of the blue and heading into their community.
Power went out for a short moment at the Needles Recreation Center where the Dance Trax 51 Registration and Taco Dinner, but the people came still not allowing this dust and ash storm from stopping them from caring for a family, the family of Terry “Tigger” King, who cared and helped many people in his community.
At this moment, no fires were started by the dust and ash storm or from the lightning afterwards.
