There’s a twist in the search for a man reported missing in Barstow, California.
According to the Barstow Police Department, just after 3:20pm PT on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015, authorities found 53 year old John Christopher Payne of Helendale, California and arrested him on suspicion of being under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant.
John Christopher Payne’s 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor was reportedly pulled over by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015.
According to the County of San Bernardino Inmate Locator, John Christopher Payne was released at 4:23am PT on Wednesday, July 29th, 2015, and as written on the website, charges, “HS11550(A) * DESCRIPTION UNAVAILABLE”, court date, “No Appearance Scheduled”, and Status/Bail, “Cite and Release”.
According to the Barstow Police Department, John Christopher Payne told them he went to Las Vegas, Nevada with friends. John Christopher Payne was found in the passenger seat of his car, which was being driven by a woman, and another man was a passenger in the backseat. The man and woman were interviewed and released.
John Christopher Payne was reported missing on Sunday, July 26th, 2015 after he failed to show up for work on Saturday, July 25th, 2015.
John Christopher Payne had not been heard from or seen since he last clocked out of work at 1:16am PT on Saturday, July 25th, 2015.
A Barstow Community Hospital Spokesman released this statement saying, “We are continuing to work with local authorities on this investigation. Most importantly, we are thankful Mr. Payne is alive and unharmed.”
