Close to the end of the Needles City Council Meeting, Needles City Council Member Shawn Gudmundson said during Needles City Council Member’s Requests, “I would like the Mayor and/or City Manager to contact B.N.S.F. regarding maybe installing a fence down there where those trains stop and ever time they go through Needles. We had a tragedy this weekend and I think it could of have been preventive. I think it’s long over do; I know many people throughout my life that have been injured there crossing the tracks… good or bad reasons… I think life is… the price of life isn’t worth what we can get a chain link fence down there to deter small children and families in trying to get across those tracks or up onto a train.”
