ZachNews has new information regarding a police pursuit ZachNews reported on at around 3:10am PT on Sunday, April 12th, 2015.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Jodi Miller, deputies responded to the 8700 block of Ramona Trail in Morongo Valley, California for a PC245, Assault with Deadly Weapon, call.
Deputies observed a blue S.U.V. leaving the area and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver, later identified as Catherine Engebretson, and lone occupant of the vehicle failed to yield.
Catherine Engebretson fled on State Route 62 into Desert Hot Springs in Riverside County, California.
Catherine Engebretson sped in excess of 80 M.P.H., ran through multiple stop signs and made several illegal U-Turns.
Units from Desert Hot Springs Police Department, Riverside Sheriff’s Department, and Palm Springs Police Department assisted in the failure to yield.
Palm Springs Police Department deployed a spike strip and deflated Catherine Engebretson’s tires.
The Failed To Yield (F.T.Y.) ended near the 22700 Block of Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs, California.
Catherine Engebretson was arrested for violation of CVC 2800.2, booked in to the Morongo Basin Jail and is held in lieu of $100,000.00 bail.
The original PC 245 call is still under investigation.
